My tiny arms are finally shown lol. Feeling deflated since haven't been able to do much in the gym. Since my shoulder came out I have only been able to lift light weight. This has been A bit annoying as I had set goals to hit new PBs on bench press, deadlift and squat but rn my focus needs to be on fixing my shoulder and maintaining asmuch muscle as possible. What's wrong with my shoulder? 1) I have hyper mobility. Because it wasn't noticed when I was younger I had not worked on improving my strength causing my bones and joints to be different. Because of this one of my shoulder blades is slightly winged causing my shoulder joint to be weak so I'm doing extra strength training movements to fix it. 2) trauma from the first dislocation has caused my shoulder to lose stabilisation so I just have to be extra careful with everything I do for the next couple of years. #gym #gains #shoulder #girlswholift #womanwholift #strength #motavation #positivity #manifestion #lifegetshard #mentalhealth #physicalhealth #vegan #plantbased #fitness #veggie #teenlifter

Lately I’ve had conversations with a few people that go something like this...”I’m not into using oils for helping manage moods & emotions” or the classic “I use oils for cleaning/therapeutic purposes but anything is too hippy for me”. ⠀ ⠀ I’m glad I had these convo’s, it’s forced me to research the mental and emotional responses essential oils have on the brain....& whether it really is just for hippies! ⠀ ⠀ Well here we go! SCIENCE JARGON AHEAD 🔬 As you inhale an essential oil, the molecules go up the back of each nostril & then attach to receptors on the cilia hairs which convert to nerves on the other side of the mucous patch. ⠀ ⠀ These nerves send the odor info to the olfactory bulb in the brain. This means that the oil itself is not sent to the brain, but instead a neural message of the complex chemistry it contains is delivered. These millions of nerves enter the olfactory bulb which communicates directly to the amygdala, hippocampus & other brain structures. ⠀ ⠀ The amygdala is a centre for emotions in the limbic system, & links our sense of smell to our ability to learn emotionally. The aromatic info is connected to the emotions of the situation. The capacity to link the two is connected to our survival ability. ⠀ ⠀ Inhaling oils is also received through the lungs and from there into the bloodstream. ⠀ ⠀ So basically, inhaling oils affect brain chemistry that will affect your emotions, mood, behaviour & mental health. ✌🏽There is still so much to learn, but needless to say it’s pretty exciting that I have the access to the most purest oils that have the power to do this. I have first hand experienced the impact of inhaling specific oils & each day I feel drawn to certain oil blends. tbh, never though I’d be “that person” 😂 give it go! What have you got to loose? I can’t tell you how special it is when Mummies take the time to write to me letting me know their special news. Not to compare this beautiful mummy to a barrel 😉😘, but just as a Barrique plays huge part in holding & infusing fine wine, a pregnant woman attending Pregnancy Relaxation plays a huge role on their journey- physically, mentally & emotionally. I can never shout from the rooftops enough about how beneficial weekly pregnancy relaxation is, both for the health of mummy-to-be, as well as baby. But also the amazing bond that is created between mummy & baby is so special. “Hi Rebecca- sorry I never made it to my last session. It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster that started with a pattern of reduced movements the night of my last session with you and ended in me being induced, 14hrs of active labour, picking up an infection in labour and ending in an emergency c section under a general anaesthetic. Safe to say not the birth planned... but anyway Oscar is here safe and sound and he’s been discharged from hospital now too so back home finally!i just wanted to message to say thank you for the sessions and that I really enjoyed them and I’m only sorry I didn’t get to say so in person! I couldn’t recommend your sessions more highly and it was the best thing I did for myself all pregnancy! So it is #minoritymentalhealthmonth and I’ve been pondering about how much this topic affects me. #brainhealth is much important as #physicalhealth Sometimes, genetically speaking, it will never go away for people. When my loved one experiences their highs, lows, delusions, passive aggressive insults and everything in between, i am stuck with anxiety, anger and deep sadness. A longing for normalcy, praying for healing, praying for deliverance has not completely worked. Using spirituality in black culture has been helpful in our communities and for my loved one it helps with their symptom management, but still I question God why does this have to happen to some people... it’s just not fair for your own mind to turn against you.. do you know what I mean? I have to fight in faith- try to see the unseen and remember in heaven these illnesses do not exist. Even then, i long for a day where maybe more healing can come and create a bridge. The bridges I try to make to create connection always ends up burning right before my eyes.. why you ask? My loved one is on the other side of the bridge and they place the bridge on fire every time with what they say and how they think. But it’s not their fault, it’s genetic they say... it’s been life long.. how to hope for change?
